About RPR

Railway Property Regeneration Ltd (RPR) is a business specialising in creating partnerships to regenerate railway related land and property. The focus of expertise is to identify and deliver the transformation of land and buildings with a railway related use into a purposeful future use.

Unique Skill Set

Our skill set is unique in that it combines hands-on operational railway experience with a matrix of property expertise necessary to transform railway property assets. These disciplines include planning, financial evaluation, development appraisal, design, implementation, procurement and delivery for use in a finished state for the end user. This includes existing buildings and surplus land and redundant buildings capable of a new life, often retaining railway heritage.

Permanently retaining employed specialist property expertise can be expensive and the range of skills required will often involve a spectrum of specialists. RPR expertise spans an extensive range: its founders have painstakingly restored their own railway-related property projects with significant success, bringing them back into viable commercial use through a planned strategy from concept through to delivery.

Visualising and then implementing a strategy to create or release intrinsic value requires a range of specialist skills and operational understanding. The team behind RPR have extensive experience in realising that value and undertaking the extensive skills and necessary steps to unlocking that value

Barrow Hill Roundhouse

The reinvention of the former BR depot into one of the UK’s centres of excellence for railway engineering is a business model that has since been used by several other organisations. The original buildings were completely restored whilst navigating listed building requirements and surplus land was imaginatively developed with the construction of new buildings for use by commercial and heritage organisations. Barrow Hill now provides facilities for several major railway companies including DRS, GBRf, Freightliner and Colas.

Dent Station

Restoration of England’s highest railway station at Dent on the Settle-Carlisle Line into award winning holiday accommodation. Plus an extension of the project to include derelict platelayer’s huts to recreate Snow Huts which are additional accommodation. The project has been covered extensively by the media and won a national railway heritage award and a RICS enterprise award.
